A Lovely October Day with Bunthoon

On my way back from Dallas, my daughter Nalyn and I missed the connecting flight in LA to Sydney and we ended up spending a great Day with Bunthoon (Ben) in Hollywood Blvd and Universal Studios.

Ben lives with his lovely wife -Noi in a warmly decorated home 30 mins away from LA airport. He has a lovely fruits and veg garden in his backyard and a huge bush of orchids in the frontyard. The house is situated in a beautiful tree-lined neibourhood with ample park space, tennis courts and running tracks. He said he has retired and has kept in good health with morning walk & run in the nearby park.

We had Thai for lunch, a wonderful afternoon at Universal Studios and Sa-koo-sai-moo for snack followed by a Vietnamese dinner - What a wonderful way to miss a connecting flight.

Jee's 60th

Dear friends

Last Saturday, Dee organized a Fun Golfing Day with some of my golfing buddies at the Paradise Palm, Country Club in Cairns for my 60th. We also had lunch there ( Traditional Aussie B_B_Q) after the gruelling 18 holes. It is said that we play golf with friends but never a friendly game. Free flowing red wine ( a must have item) was also served during our extended long lunch. I was completely smashed and pickled in it. My birthday cake depicted a desperate move to hole the tin cup. I'd like to share these pics with you all.

Seeing Jeab in Dallas

Jeab paid us a visit when we are in Dallas for my niece's wedding in mid October 2010. She drove all the way from Houston to have lunch with Nalyn, my brother Vicha and I. It was good to see her looking so well and happy.

Visiting San Francisco

Just spent four days in SF with friends on my way to my niece's wedding in Dallas. Cannot help checking out the Golden Gate bridge - a suspension bridge Prinya and I used to model in our Civil Engineering study at Tassie.

Are we on top of the world or over the hill at 60?

Dear friends
Happy Birthday(s) to some if not all of us approaching and/or arriving at the 60th birthday juncture. I could be wrong, correct me if you feel the urge, I think CP69ers are at the cusp of this golden birthday(s).

I sincerely wish all of us a very Happy Birthday and memorable golden returns.

And on this very day, I asked Merridee this: Will you still love me and will you still feed me when I'm 64? I think the latter is more prevalent than the former notion of sentimentality.

At any rate, enjoy and enjoy and let's not be grumpy old fools.

Dinner with Ping, Von & friends in Sydney

Last Saturday 2nd October 2010, we met up with Jenny's cousin Kathy and her family so we invited Ping and Von (Somnuk and Piyada's son) to join us. The boys played snooker while we drank before settling down to a meal.

All were happy to meet and talk. Ping is completing his M.E. this year and Von next year.
